Rocky Road Travel, a unique tour company based in Berlin, distinguishes itself by organizing expeditions to some of the world's most misunderstood and stigmatized destinations. Their mission is to peel back the layers of misconception surrounding these regions, often labeled as dangerous and inaccessible, to reveal their authentic beauty and cultural richness. In line with this vision, they commissioned me to document a 7-day journey to Socotra, Yemen—a gem often overshadowed by its geopolitical context. My task was to capture the essence of Socotra, from its surreal landscapes to its welcoming people. The goal was to obtain fresh, compelling imagery for Rocky Road Travel's website and social media platforms, to attract potential adventurers and showcase the beauty of this mysterious place.
